Domain Keyword ToolThe Google AdWords Tool can also be thought of as a domain keyword tool. It's a free and powerful tool. I use to be suspicious of using different keyword tools that offer free name search service from different websites. I thought the names I entered could be read by someone else on the other side and poof, the name is gone in the blink of an eye. It's probably not a truism but I don't like putting myself in a position where I have to think about it. With that said, the Google Keyword Search Tool is amazing for anything relating to keywords for domains and finding the right name for your website. It's simply the best. When you begin your search for names with keywords in them, jot them down on a scratch sheet of paper first. Use a reputable company to see if a good name is available. Don't be afraid to look for names that already get some traffic. I found many names that get good monthly search volume, so be patient when you start looking. When I first started buying domain names, I did it without any thought of search engine optimization. I wasted money buying two and sometimes three names when I could have narrowed it down to one before making the purchase. You'll hear various discussions regarding the topic of whether or not keywords should be a domain name. Some say you don't need them and some say you do. I tend to side with the group that says you need keywords in your website name. If you depend on organic traffic for the life source of your website, I suggest doing anything you can to give search engines the clear intention of your website and that includes making sure your domain has your main keywords in it. Keywords fuel the internet and any website hoping to be found without the right keywords is hopeless. I wrote about the keywords in domains in an article called, "5 Reasons Why Keywords Should Be in Domain Names". The five reasons are, keywords give search engines the clear intention of your website; they give your visitors the clear intention of your website, they help you save because you find one name and not several; they give you a chance to brand the name of your website with a catchy name and they give you the clear intention of your website. It's good for the title of your domain to be a constant reminder of the goals of your website. If you have hosting accounts with a company, you can purchase a domain name on the spot and not have to switch back and forth. I use Go Daddy for my name search and the service is great. When you're ready, open the Google Keyword Search Tool and start typing in a name you think you want to use. This process is helpful because you can find so many variation of a possible name. When you find a name that sounds good, drill further down as if you were doing keyword research. Take the name you like and type it in the keyword tool again. You might find another variation of that name. Try not to use names with dashes in them. They are tough to brand. I once had a domain name with dashes and it never looked right or felt right. The idea is to get people to remember the name you choose so they will visit your website regularly. In conclusion, use the Google keyword search tool when looking for domain names with keywords for better optimization, better search results and better branding of your website. In my opinion, you won't find a better tool for domain search.
